Growing Together:
Farming, Nature, Community
Farming
At The Bower Farm Collective, we’re just beginning our regenerative farming journey, with a vision for a thriving, sustainable future. We’ve started with a small herd of beef cattle, practicing rotational grazing, and are excited to soon offer direct-to-consumer beef.
Our first season growing sunflowers not only improved the soil and attracted pollinators, but also provided a wonderful opportunity to invite the community in with open days and many art workshop collaborations.
Our next big step is planting a syntropic food forest, guided by Matt’s recent completion of a permaculture design course and his deep dive into syntropic farming practices. Watch this space as we grow and evolve!
Nature
The Bower Farm lies on Worimi country, where nature takes centre stage. Our farm is home to an abundance of native wildlife, including a resident family of wallabies, diverse birdlife, butterflies, mayflies, and the elusive platypus that live in our creek and across the town’s waterways. These are just a few examples—there’s much more to discover, with occasional sightings of koalas among the rich tapestry of nature. Surrounded by the sights and sounds of wildlife, it’s a place where the land truly comes alive.
Rachel has been working with the local community to establish two new Landcare groups—Stroud Community Rivercare and Stroud Jr Landcare—helping to preserve the land’s beauty and biodiversity.
Connect with nature through a stay in our glamping tent, The Regent Bower, and join us in supporting these efforts to care for the environment.
Community
We are passionate about growing our community through collaboration, creativity, and care. Inspired by the bowerbird’s instinct to collect and decorate its bower with treasures from the local area, we collaborate with local businesses, artists, wellness providers, farmers, and other amazing locals.
Together, we offer unique experiences that celebrate our shared values. From art workshops and yoga in the paddock to kids workshops and toddler sensory play, we host a variety of events that bring people together.
By growing the community together, we are stronger, strengthening bonds, supporting one another, and creating a place where everyone is welcome.
