Where Ripples Rise
Where Ripples Rise
We are proud to bring you Where Ripples Rise, the first book published under the The Bower Farm Collective imprint — a story that reflects our commitment to nature, community, creativity, and connection to Country.
Written by Rachel Barry, Where Ripples Rise is a story grounded in place. Inspired by time spent exploring local creeks with her children, Rachel captures the quiet magic of slowing down and truly noticing the natural world.
Set on Worimi Country, the story invites children to sit quietly on the creek bank, observing shimmering ripples and hidden bushland creatures. Their patience is rewarded with an unforgettable encounter with Yapii the platypus.
Richly illustrated by Estelle Leishman using eco-paints made from natural materials gathered at the creek, the artwork reflects a deep respect for place. The book also includes a bonus activity encouraging children to search for creatures hidden throughout the pages.
With contributions from Worimi Traditional Owner Justin Ridgeway, the book honours cultural heritage and includes a dreaming story that deepens the connection to Country, offering families a meaningful and shared reading experience. It invites readers into a shared respect for the land and for those who have cared for it for tens of thousands of years before us — acknowledging the enduring wisdom, stewardship, and cultural connection that continues today.
